Before I did the Friday Night Thread with Hjiørst Fjiøörds here, the posts were flying in at about 1 a month. Now suddenly everyone's interested in Bjørk again?

My favorite episode: "Anthrax!"

My favorite episode of "Alice" aired in October, 1977, and was titled, "Anthrax!" In it, Tommy steals a sheep for a gang initiation rite, but has to hide it from his mom. He turns to the most senior gang member in phoenix, Mel, to help him hide it. But it turns out this sheep is infected with anthrax! Soon all of Mel's customers are hospitalized, but the health department doesn't make the connection because, as Flo points out, "There aint nothin' odd about folks gettin sick off Mel's cookin'!" We watched this one while eating dinner, and I remember laughing so hard my milk came out my nose!

Did a film with Linda a few years back...

...called "Best Friends for Life (aka "Life Estates")" several years back and I worked as an extra for the day.

Mostly everyone with the production was staying at the hotel at which I worked, so that was I how I got involved.

Anyway...Ms. Lavin was very nice and we talked several times throughout the day, in fact, I had lunch with her and the other cast members the late Richard Farnsworth and Gena Rowland.

Ms. Lavin loved it when I met her because I asked how soon it was going to be before we saw repeats of her show. She looked at me and responded " I don't know if or when anyone will rerun ALICE."

I looked back at her and said, "Not that Ms. Lavin, but ROOM FOR TWO?"

She looked and gave me a big hug.

Alice, Vera, Flo and me! An adolescent fantasy...

I'm sure I wasn't the only 13 year old boy in the late 1970's who had this fantasy. It was the first time I had dreamed up an elaborate, detailed sexual scenario. In it, all three of my favorite waitresses were my babysitters, or something like this, and they decided I needed a bath, and then we all got crazy! We didn't actually have sex, mind you, but we did all get crazy! (I was only 13, and didn't know how to fill in that part of the scene.)

I met Beth Howland on a plane once, and I told her about this fantasy. She just fixed me with one of those trademark Vera looks, then nervously laughed it off, making some comment like she didn't understand what I was saying. I couldn't have asked for a more gratifying response! It was like a dream come true.
